Brion leaves for Ecuador   April 5th, 2010

Brion teaching in Quito Ecuador to over 100 Awana leaders

I leave on Monday, April 5, 2010 for 10 days (schedule is listed below). I’m asking for prayer (safe travel, no lost luggage, stamina, good health and that the training will be a success). I’ll be traveling with Randy Newburn (Awana Missionary in Ecuador). Thank you for your prayers … they really make a difference!!

Merry Christmas 2009!   December 14th, 2009

The very best Christmas greetings from the Frakes / Awana House!

Sitting at the equator, April 2009

Sitting at the equator, April 2009

All throughout this last year we all have learned so much … what it means to be patient, how to run a Bible Quiz event with 101 teams registered, how valuable volunteers are, how to run a conference and feed over 850 adults, how to feed 37 people 5 consecutive meals (Commander College-101), what Ecuador looks like for 12 days, what loving kindness means, how beautiful Yellowstone is, what friends are truly for, how it feels to serve at camp without being in charge, how to show hospitality in odd circumstances, how to pray for and assist 110 Awana clubs, what it feels like to start adding to the next generation, how to survive nearly any condition, and to have truly thankful hearts for great health.

With all of the above things behind us, our lives will be heading back down the “normal” path (whatever that is). We are more and more aware of the things that are truly important … Our Lord, family, relationships, “together experiences”, kindness, love and letting our light shine for His Kingdom. Our family is growing both physically and spiritually and blessed beyond measure. Twin granddaughters born in August! A new daughter-in-law sometime in 2010. We are looking towards the day when life slows down a little; someone suggested the year 2022. In the meantime, we are preparing for another trip to Ecuador which will also include Guatemala and Honduras. Please pray as we prepare for this wonderful ministry opportunity. In the mean time, feel free to stop by for a spell and visit with us in person or over the phone so we can catch up on all the details that makes life interesting. We’d love that.
